Getting a possum out of the roof only solves half the problem. If the gap it used is still open, the same possum, or a new one, can move straight back in. The crew we book walks around the house and checks every place a possum could squeeze through. Common gaps include lifted ridge capping, broken or missing tiles, the space between the gutter and the roof sheets, open eaves, gable vents and the join where a garage, patio or extension meets the main roof. Air conditioning pipes and cables that go through the eaves can leave holes too.
Each gap is closed with the right material for the spot. That might be galvanised mesh, metal flashing, foam and sealant, or new tile bedding at the ridge. The aim is to close the gap neatly so it looks tidy from the ground and holds up to a determined possum. If a gap needs a roofer rather than a possum crew, for example a badly damaged section of tiles, they will tell you.
